In addition to Personal Information, our contracts with some Registries may require us to collect other personal information for the registration of a TLD such as certain professional affiliations, identification or other qualifiers (“Additional Personal Information”).
Sharing Information
Public WHOIS: We must follow rules from ICANN and other Registries to make certain information about domain names (“WHOIS Information”) public. You can find this information on a public webpage we operate called the “WHOIS Site.” This site lists details about the domain name, including its name servers, creation date, and expiration date.
Domain Transfer: If you transfer your domain name to another registrar, we may need to share your email address on the WHOIS Site for about five (5) days. After this time, if the transfer is completed, you will no longer be our customer for that domain, and the new registrar will manage your WHOIS Information.
Third-Party Registries: Registries are separate organizations that provide Top-Level Domains (TLDs). If required, we must share your Personal Information with a Registry to complete your domain registration. Each Registry must also follow data privacy laws.
Data Safety: We are required by ICANN to store your Personal Information with a secure third-party escrow provider that protects the data.
Required Disclosures: We may also share your Personal Information if ICANN’s rules and policies require it, including the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP).
