How to add an A record with the DNS Zone Editor in cPanel

DNS records can be created in the domain registrar account or in the hosting control panel. In this guide, we will show you how to create DNS records in cPanel.

Step 1: Log in to cPanel-To create DNS records in cPanel, you need to log in to your cPanel account. Go to yourdomain.com/cpanel and enter your cPanel username and password.

Step 2: Go to the DNS Zone Editor in cPanel, you can create and manage DNS records in the DNS Zone Editor. To access the DNS Zone Editor, scroll down to the Domains section and click on the “Zone Editor” icon.

Step 3: Select the Domain-If you have multiple domains in your cPanel account, select the domain for which you want to create DNS records.

Step 4: Add a DNS Record-To create a new DNS record, click on the “Add Record” button. There are several types of DNS records that you can create. The most common types of DNS records are:

  • A Record: Used to map a domain name to an IP address
  • CNAME Record: Used to create an alias for a domain name
  • MX Record: Used to specify the mail server for a domain name

Step 6: Verify the DNS Record-After creating the DNS record, it may take some time to propagate throughout the internet. You can verify the DNS record by using a DNS lookup tool like nslookup or dig.
